Your Growth Potential – The Inner Voice in YouYour growth potential - how do you manage it and what do you have to look out for? Do you believe in yourself or have you been defeated so many times that you feel like a failure? What is your inner voice telling you? I call this inner voice, the silent voice sometimes. Well, not so silent if you listen to it too much. It can sometimes sound like a roar. And depending on when and in what context, this voice can be harnessed into a power that can propel you or it can be an anchor that can weigh you down on your growth potential. 1. When It Is Positive Chances are sometimes you ignore it. You may even scoff at it saying you do not believe it. And soon, these positive voices will not speak anymore. It will be silenced by your repeated disbelief of what is being said to you. Believe in it when it tells you something positive. When that voice says you can, then do your part. Show up. And do what it is you have to do. No matter how tedious and hard the work maybe. It’s a way of feeding these positive voices. The positive inner voice hungry for hard work and sweat. It loves people who believe in themselves. And more importantly, it loves consistency. If you show up, put in the hard work, sweat your work and do it consistently, there is no telling where your growth potential can bring you. 2. When It Is Negative Some people like to fight this negative voice. What I do is not fight it because it will always be there. What you can do is to diminish the voice. Make it smaller and softer, day after day with your actions. This voice only softens when your actions harden. I acknowledge its existence but I do not give it credence. I tell the voice, “Yes, I hear you but I do not believe you. Here is what I can do. Watch.” And I go ahead and do whatever it is I plan to do. No excuses, no ifs and no buts. That’s how you maximize your potential growth. Take a stance and stand firm. Act upon your positive urges and do it. There is no need for second thoughts as second thoughts are what feed the negative inner voices that limits your growth potential.
