I learned at a young age to use a day planner to help keep my assignments and commitments listed from what was most important to less important but all things that needed to get done. I still use this. I use a weekly planner so that I can see the whole week at a glance and know what I have planned for the week.
I also keep track of things that come up at last minute but things that I want to do and can do. I think its important to keep track of things that you are expected to do and also very important to keep track of things that you have done. Usually when I complete something I put a smiley face next to because I am happy it's done.
